Lupus is an "invisible" illness. Those with lupus may appear healthy, but inside their body is constantly fighting.

My mom, Tosh, was diagnosed with lupus at age 18. If there is one thing you could categorize my mom as, it would be a fighter. She and others with lupus are dealing with symptoms like extreme fatigue, chronic pain, joint inflammation/stiffness, anemia, and more, all while trying to live up to the standards of a society that often neglects disabled people. This experience is something those without chronic or invisible illness can never understand. Despite these daily struggles, my mom continues to be the most amazing, resilient, smart, and loving person I know.

My mom is strong - but the cruel mystery of lupus is a weight she should not have to carry. I am joining the LFA walk to end lupus so that no one else will have to put up this invisible fight.
